At my favourite National Trust property, Sissinghurst Castle, a figure by sculptor Toma Rosandić can be found amongst the White Garden foliage. I painted her with oils from an image I took on one of my many explorations of the gardens. I aimed to capture her elegance and mystery, and how the lead she is cast from sits within her untamed, natural backdrop.
