I am an artist, art teacher, and fieldnote keeper from Rainham, Medway. 

After dedicating myself to both arts and sciences at school, I went on to study architecture. I was not interested in learning Computer Aided Design, and much to my tutor’s dismay I pledged to hand build every model and hand draw every graphic. I gained a First Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Cardiff University in 2024. 

I didn’t fancy working in an architecture firm, but was unsure what to pursue. Conveniently, I  received a letter from my secondary school encouraging me to train to teach, with a small bursary for Art and Design. So, I completed my PGCE in secondary art and design education. 

Now, I teach part time at a brand new school with just year 7s in Ebbsfleet, designing the Art and DT curriculum. As much as it can feel like Groundhog Day, my year 7s are the most inspiring, creative people I have ever met. 

The rest of the week, I paint. I am currently working on a project that entails following the bands from the vibrant Medway scene around and live drawing and painting their recording sessions, pub gigs, and festival sets. I have always been incredibly inspired by live music, and can’t help but scribble in my fieldnote books whenever musicians are around.
